The university has 6 libraries and Killiam Memorial Library is one of them which is the largest library in Atlantic Canada featuring more than 1 million books and over 40,000 journals. University is awarded more than $150 million in external research grants.

University has more than 400+ Student clubs & societies to support students and almost 2660 students live on campus. Some of the notable alumni of the university are Richard Bedford Bennett – 11th Prime Minister of Canada, Joe Clark – 16th Prime Minister of Canada, Arthur B. McDonald – Nobel Laureate: 2015 Nobel Prize in Physics, Charles Peter McColough - CEO of Xerox and Michael Leir – Canadian High Commissioner to Australia

A famous American philanthropist and publisher, George Munro donated money to the university all his life and in honour of George Munro, the university celebrates 'George Munro Day' on February 1.
