Dalhousie University is proudly located in Halifax, Nova Scotia which is ranked one of the friendliest cities in the world. Founded in 1818, it is one of Canada’s oldest universities, attracting more than 19,000 students including 22% international students from around the world. Dalhousie makes a lasting impact by blending transformative academic programs with pioneering research on Canada’s East Coast.

Dalhousie is home to 13 Faculties with 200+ degree programs that are supported by continual innovation in the classroom and a focus on interactive learning. The university has 6 libraries and Killiam Memorial Library is one of them which is the largest library in Atlantic Canada featuring more than 1 million books and over 40,000 journals. University is awarded more than $150 million in external research grants.

University has more than 400+ Student clubs & societies to support students and almost 2660 students live on campus. Some of the notable alumni of the university are Richard Bedford Bennett – 11th Prime Minister of Canada, Joe Clark – 16th Prime Minister of Canada, Arthur B. McDonald – Nobel Laureate: 2015 Nobel Prize in Physics, Charles Peter McColough - CEO of Xerox and Michael Leir – Canadian High Commissioner to Australia

A famous American philanthropist and publisher, George Munro donated money to the university all his life and in honour of George Munro, the university celebrates 'George Munro Day' on February 1.
