About University of Suffolk

Located in the historic town of Suffolk, the University of Suffolk (UOS) is a highly-ranked public institution of higher education in England. It was originally set up as the University Campus Suffolk (UCS) in the year 2007 but did not have the authority to grant degrees under its name. In 2016, the institution was transformed into a university and obtained the degree-granting powers from the Privy Council. In the same year, it took up its current name. The university has associations with the University of Essex, University of East Anglia, East Coast College and West Suffolk College.

It also has one extension site at Ipswich. The Waterfront Building is the central block on Main Campus and houses three lecture theatres and 34 small teaching rooms. The institution inaugurated the six-storey James Hehir Building on the campus in 2011, which is also home to Cult Cafe. Adjacent to this building, Athena Hall is the on-site student accommodation facility with about 600 seats in flats and studio rooms. Learning Resource Centre or the university library, with a wide collection of rare and unique resources in printed and digital form, is the major source of information for teaching, learning and research. These resources can be accessed by both the faculty and the students. The campus also features the East Contemporary Art Collection exhibited at the Waterfront Gallery. The collection includes a total of 160 incredible artworks by 115 artists. Additionally, the university maintains an online store from where the students can purchase educational items using credit or debit card only.
