Work duties

An appointment as Associate Senior Lecturer is a fixed-term career-development position of least four years and at the most six years in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance Chapter 4, Section 12 a.

The purpose of the appointment is for the teacher to have the opportunity to develop research autonomy and acquire the scholarly and teaching qualifications required for the eligibility requirement for appointment as a Senior Lecturer.

The research in future energy addresses the challenges in energy and environmental systems by developing processes and systems for increased resource efficiency and digitalization in the transition to a renewable energy system. Together with industry and society, efficient and innovative energy systems are developed, which put less strain on the environment and minimize emissions. Our researchers develop new methods to use renewable energy such as solar, wind, and bioenergy, and create energy solutions that are both resource-efficient and flexible enough to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

Research is conducted in three main areas:

  • Renewable energy with a focus on solar and bioenergy and the integration of renewable energy into the energy system.
  • Resource efficiency with a focus on energy efficiency, low emissions, and the recycling of nutrients and materials.
  • Digitalization for energy efficiency and better environmental performance.
  • We are now looking for someone who feels they would thrive and fit in our environment. Your duties will include:

  • Teaching and taking responsibility for courses in energy engineering, with a focus on thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and process modeling, in our civil engineering programs in energy systems, bachelor's programs in energy engineering, and master's programs in sustainable energy systems.
  • Supervising thesis work and doctoral students in energy engineering and FEC areas.
  • Conducting research and applying for external research funding for projects within the department's research focus, with a particular focus on the digitalization of industrial and energy processes.
