  • About the Role As a dedicated Construction Safety Officer, you will be committed to fostering a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Through regular site visits, risk assessments, and incident management, you will provide expert guidance to project teams, contractors, and campus management. Your proactive approach and attention to detail ensure a safe and productive working environment for all.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring compliance by providing subject matter expertise and conduct training to ensure adherence to University policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Conducting audits and inspections by regularly assess site activities to confirm compliance with legislative and contractual requirements.
  • Offering guidance to Project Managers on OHS systems, incident investigations, and safety in design processes.
  • Who we are looking for We are seeking a dedicated Construction Safety professional with a proven track record in the industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. With relevant qualifications and experience, they will be able to effectively manage safety on construction sites and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

    You will also have:

  • Relevant Occupational Health & Safety qualifications (post graduate preferred but not essential) or, an equivalent combination of relevant experience and / or education / training.
  • Proven experience in managing safety on construction sites.
  • Current construction induction training (White Card).
  • Demonstrated strong computer skills in range of Microsoft software and contract management systems.

    This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to- date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
