Work Arrangements

The department of Philosophy and Humanities invites candidates to apply for a contract position beginning in the Fall 2024 semester.

Instructors must be prepared to teach one or both of the following courses beginning Fall 2024:

- PHIL 1101 Critical Thinking (Monday 3:30 – 6:20 at the New Westminster campus).

The Role

Applicants should have demonstrated experience in, and commitment to undergraduate teaching.

Responsibilities

You will instruct students, facilitate learning, and evaluate student progress in College courses. You will plan, organize, and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to learners, and maintain quality inclusive, learner-centered instruction.

To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need

  • A completed PhD in Philosophy is strongly preferred, but applicants who are ABD in Philosophy may be considered.
  • Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate teaching excellence through a record of student evaluations in relevant courses.
  • Teaching evaluations, letters of reference, and proof of credentials may be requested from candidates who are shortlisted.
  • Future contract work after Fall 2024 may be offered if courses are available.
