Brandon University is seeking Contract Academic Staff instructors in the School of Music to complete the following courses from November 4 to December 18, 2024 (Fall term). 64:130 MUSIC HISTORY SURVEY I – 1.5 credit hours – Fall Term – Tues/Thurs 10:10-11:30 (Slot 11) A chronological survey of Western art music from Ancient Greece to the Baroque period, examining cultural and historical context, major composers, genres, representative works, and stylistic characteristics, as well as different methodologies used to investigate this music. The student will gain skills in critical thinking, score reading, listening, research, and writing. Note: students in this class must be able to read musical scores in Western music notation.

63:690 MUSIC BIBLIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH METHODS – 1.5 credit hours – Fall Term – Thurs 1:40-4:30 (Slot 14) The course is designed to acquaint students with the performance/literature program with the bibliographic resources for musical research. It deals with both general reference and music reference sources. Qualifications: Master's degree in music is required, Doctorate and/or relevant teaching experience preferred.
