Job description

Data and Records Management Officer

Full Time, Permanent

Grade 7 (£37,099 - £44,263)

Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities. We have made our mark with high quality, well-directed teaching and research, and a stimulating and enriching experience for our students.

An important part of Abertay University's commitment to data-driven decision- making is investment in the InfoSmart project to unlock the value within our corporate data and records and to ensure effective protection of our information assets. InfoSmart is a long-term Data, Information and Records management project that will significantly change and improve the way the University stores and manages structured and unstructured data, files and records. It affects all staff and will implement a sector leading change to the data accuracy and record-keeping culture at Abertay.

The University now seeks to appoint a Data and Records Management Officer. This is a new role at the heart of the University to promote and support the management of data and records.

Reporting to the Head of Governance and Deputy Secretary and the Head of Planning and Insight, as a key member of our InfoSmart project team, the Data and Records Management Officer will play a pivotal role in shaping our Data and Records management practices and establishing an Information Governance framework. Due to the scale and complexity of the InfoSmart project, the focus of the role will vary at times in line with the project plan.

You will have a strong understanding of data management principles, strong analytical skills, experience creating reports and documentation that make Data Management and/ or Records Management understandable for everyone and 1-3 years' experience working in a Data Management related role.

A full candidate brief can be found above which details the job description, person specification and application details.
