  • About You

    The Executive Assistant and Office Manager is responsible for delivering efficient administrative support to the ATN Universities team in operational and administrative capacities. They work closely with the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director through provision of high-level executive support commensurate with the ED's volume of correspondence, travel load and external positioning.

    This position liaises with internal and external stakeholders and requires excellent communication skills and a high degree of organisational skills to meet demanding priorities. The incumbent will maintain best practice office procedures, liaise collaboratively with other stakeholders while providing an efficient and effective professional service. A high level of independent judgment, professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality is required for this position.

    As ATN's office manager, the position is responsible for the efficient administration of ATN including in areas of finance, IT and staff onboarding.

    To be successful in this position you'll have as a minimum:

  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of high-level administrative support, with the ability to act with diplomacy, discretion, and tact.
  • Ability to work independently and to use initiative and problem-solving skills to take responsibility for following through enquiries, correspondence, and activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work and complete tasks to tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated high-level of computer literacy including word processing; presentation software; email, internet and SharePoint and electronic document management databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision for completing administrative tasks.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to work co-operatively as a member of a team and ability to effectively communicate with people from diverse cultural backgrounds at all levels of an organisation. Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and diplomacy with an outcome-focused approach.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking ability and flexibility to adapt work practices and models according to need.

    An understanding of the Australian tertiary education sector and research environment, and of the distinctive profile of the ATN and its member universities.
