The University of Bedfordshire, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences is seeking to appoint an external examiner to their Nursing Associate and Nursing Associate Apprentice Courses.
These are full-time courses which extend over a period of 2 academic years. The courses adopt a work-integrated approach to learning which facilitates the application of theoretical learning within the workplace. Learners attend university and engage in work-based learning activities in a healthcare practice setting.
We are keen to recruit academics who hold current NMC registration as a health professional. Whilst external examiner experience is desirable, we also welcome expressions of interest from individuals new to this role.
The successful candidates will be offered an induction programme and will be supported throughout the duration of their tenure.
You will be invited to attend our academic examination boards throughout the year. These are held on campus or virtually. You will also be invited to observe teaching and visit students within practice areas. The specific remit includes review of units at academic level 4-5 contributing to the above undergraduate award.
The term of office for the successful candidate will be for a period of 4 years from September 2024.
