  • About ARU:

ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. ARU holds a Gold award for the quality of its education, awarded through the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

ARU's research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK's Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK's leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.

    About the Role:

Working within HR Partnering Team, you will be the first port of call for our customers, and will provide efficient, effective, customer-focused support for our HR Operations activities. You'll undertake a wide range of administrative processes, ensuring HR records, systems and databases are kept up-to-date, accurate and ensure legislation is adhered to at all times.

You'll administer the DBS renewal process for our employees and maintain a strong working knowledge of DBS compliance, understanding the rules and regulations. You'll also update guidance documents as required. You'll create, administer and maintain records for our claims-based members of staff from point of recruitment to leaver notification, working closely with our Faculty Administrators. You'll carry out a range of pre-employment checks including right to work in the UK, DBS checks, qualifications and others where appropriate. You'll monitor the shared HR Services/jobs email mailboxes, redirecting and escalating as appropriate and undertake administrative duties with other adhoc processes as required.

Ideally with two A Levels, you'll have a range of GCSEs at grades A-C or equivalent, or NVQ Level 2. You'll be experienced in dealing with high volumes of queries, producing letters and updating spreadsheets and of working to service level agreements/KPIs. An effective team player, you will be able to organise and prioritise a busy workload and use your know-how to solve problems, providing a timely and customer focussed response. If you can combine strong customer care with excellent communication and strong attention to detail, we'd like to hear from you.

Informal enquiries can be made to Susan Alabaster, Senior HR Partner, at [email protected]
