Outline

The Indigenous General Merit Scholarships for Postgraduate Students Commencing Term 1, 2025 aims to encourage and assist Indigenous Australian students to undertake study at UNSW.

While Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identity is unique and sacred to every person, UNSW scholarships for Indigenous students will require proof of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity and heritage. If you have not already provided proof of identity and heritage to Nura Gili, any Indigenous specific scholarship offer made by UNSW Scholarships will be conditional upon receipt of proof of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage to Nura Gili as outlined on the Nura Gili website. Undergraduate Commencing Scholarships - Application Required


You must submit an application to be considered for the following scholarships. More scholarships may be added to this list progressively.


Scholarship Value and Duration Eligibility
UNSW Indigenous Postgraduate Business Scholarship (PGCE1015)

$10,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program

  • Indigenous Australian (Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander only).
  • Be commencing postgraduate coursework studies in any degree program offered by UNSW Business School. Students commencing an AGSM MBA program are permitted.
The Faculty of Law Juris Doctor (JD) Scholarship for Indigenous Students (PGCE1007)

$10,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program

  • Indigenous Australian (Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander only).
  • Academic merit (including, where applicable, results from the UNSW Pre-Law program or equivalent preparation programs.
  • Be commencing or currently enrolled in the UNSW Juris Doctor program.
AGSM Indigenous Leaders Scholarship (PGCE1025)

50% tuition fees.

  • Indigenous Australian ( Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander only).
  • The recipient must be commencing or continuing postgraduate study in AUSM MBA Full time or AGSM MBA (Executive) or AGSM MBAX or AGSM Master of Management.

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:
  • Academic Merit
  • Leadership skills (school, workplace or community)
  • Extra-curricular activities (sporting, cultural activities, volunteer/work experience)
  • Aptitude and commitment to studies in the areas of specialisation
