An exciting opportunity exists for a Lecturer to play a significant role at a vibrant institution and be part of a dynamic team with a passion for teaching, research, and community and engagement, contributing to the overall output of excellence in Teaching and Research in the School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering.

The successful candidate will be a passionate educator who will supervise honours projects as well as higher degree research students.

Candidates will have the ability to develop and deliver curriculum in the rapidly growing undergraduate and postgraduate coursework degrees and undertake research in Mechanical Engineering. Analytical skills and experience in engineering design and nonlinear dynamics will be highly regarded. The position will involve engaging with students, collaborators, industry partners and developing funding proposals for research.

The position is located on the Bentley Campus of Curtin University but may involve collaborations with Curtin campuses in Malaysia and Dubai or education partners in Sri Lanka.

Candidates must be Permanent Residents or Citizens of Australia to be considered for this role. Visa sponsorship is not available. If you are interstate and are looking to move to Perth we would love to hear from you. Assistance with relocation will be considered.

Selection Criteria

Essential Requirements

  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering
  • Evidence of a capability or potential to deliver high-quality teaching in fields of engineering design and condition monitoring
  • Evidence of a capability or potential to deliver high-quality research in fields of engineering design and condition monitoring
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross-cultural sensitivity.
  • Desirable Requirement

  • Capability to deliver teaching and research related to the applications of nonlinear dynamics in engineering domains
