  • About the Role Shape the success of undergraduate activities within the Faculty of Business and Economics. Your role will encompass the oversight of all faculty components of undergraduate programs, enhancing the student experience, and supporting the academic community. You will lead the strategic management and development of these programs, ensuring the smooth delivery of services that elevate both academic and student success. As a key member of the Academic Programs leadership team, you'll provide expert advice to senior faculty members and work collaboratively with colleagues to drive exceptional outcomes for both students and staff, ensuring that undergraduate programs meet the highest standards of excellence. This position offers the opportunity to innovate within a supportive team and make a meaningful impact on both student and academic outcomes.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing a small team by setting clear direction and providing mentorship, coaching, and support for professional development, all aimed at achieving organisational objectives and KPIs.
  • Acting as the main liaison and escalation point between the Academic Programs team, teaching departments, and Student and Scholarly Services, managing all matters related to the faculty's undergraduate programs.
  • Contributing to the wider Academic Services team as a leader and influencer, working collaboratively across functions with peers to create effective workflows and communication that support collective goals and drive success.
  • Who We Are Looking For You bring program management experience from a university or government education sector and possess a thorough understanding of these environments. You are a highly effective leader who excels at mentoring and managing performance while driving efficiency. You inspire teamwork, build a positive workplace culture, and offer innovative, solutions-focused approaches. You are a skilled problem-solver, capable of exercising sound judgment and initiative to address complex challenges. You are adept at building relationships, collaborating with others, and working independently or as part of a team. Your cultural sensitivity and understanding enables you to effectively navigate diverse environments and negotiate solutions. You have a strong understanding of policies and procedures and can analyse processes to identify opportunities for improvement. You are committed to enhancing efficiency and streamlining processes to benefit both students and staff.

    You also have:

  • A degree combined with significant relevant experience, or an equivalent mix of professional experience and/or education and training.
  • Highly developed professional organisational skills, with the ability to manage workflow, set priorities, schedule tasks to meet deadlines, and balance competing demands in a complex and high-pressure environment.
  • A strong sense of initiative and drive, with a proven ability to identify, develop, and implement solutions to complex problems while effectively influencing senior staff.

    This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
