Background

This post is part of the MARS project. In this project we are working with a technology company to explore the use of machine analysis software clinically, guided by the discourse analysis protocol created for the LUNA project (https: // blogs.city.ac.uk/luna). There is the potential for huge time efficiencies using software and the potential for more discourse goals to be identified and targeted clinically. MARS will also explore software use with speech diversity (accent and speech disorders concurrent with aphasia).

Responsibilities

The purpose of the post is to provide support for the research team in the first year of this 3-year project. This will involve managing storage of existing data, and the collaboration between City St George's, Barts Health and the technology company. The postholder will also assist with ethics, plan and carrying out co-design/usability workshops; and contribute to annual report writing and dissemination of findings from the workshops. The post holder will receive training, support and mentoring as appropriate to the role.

Person Specification

We are looking for postdoctoral researcher with strong project management skills, the ability to facilitate communication with adults with aphasia. In this crucial first year of the project, the post-holder will liaise with and provide support, as needed, to the project team members and collaborators,; providing administration support. They will have overall responsibility for project and data management; and contribute to the dissemination of findings from year 1.
