Background

City St George's is a global institution dedicated to academic excellence, with a strong focus on business, professional practice, and the professions. Located in central London, we attract around 20,000 students, over 40% of whom are postgraduates, from more than 150 countries, along with staff from over 75 countries. Following our recent merger with St George's, University of London, our student population has grown to 27,000, and our portfolio in medical research and education has expanded. Our research is globally recognized for its quality and impact, with 86% rated as world-leading or internationally excellent in REF2021.

The School of Science and Technology (SST) seeks an exceptional researcher to join us as a Presidential Fellow, focusing on advancing research in Quantum Computing Theory and Quantum Algorithms. Our strategy prioritises cutting-edge research that is significant, impactful, and engaged with the community. You will collaborate with the School's academics to publish research findings in conferences and journals, prepare new proposals for external funding, and support the supervision of doctoral students. Academic mentoring arrangements will be established to support your development and help you realise your potential. You may be required to undertake a limited amount of teaching to aid your integration and prepare for a permanent academic position at the end of the Fellowship.
