  • About the Role As a Quantitative Analyst, you will be a key player in shaping the University's financial future. You will join a team dedicated to using data to drive strategic decisions, collaborating with leaders across the institution to develop advanced models and insights. Your work will directly support the University's long-term goals with a focus on financial sustainability, growth, and efficiency.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance analytical models, based on financial and non-financial datasets, to support strategic decision-making, ensuring accuracy and integration with university systems.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the university to understand business needs, gather data, and provide regular updates on model development and insights.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies to drive innovation and improve the efficiency of university processes.
  • Utilise models to provide data-driven insights that support long-term business goals, including growth, cost reduction, and asset optimisation.
  • Manage multiple modelling projects effectively, following project management practices and contributing to the full project lifecycle.
  • Who we are looking for We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Analyst with a strong foundation in financial analysis, data wrangling, and modelling. A deep understanding of statistical and financial modelling techniques is essential for developing scenarios and supporting decision-making. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment are also critical. While working experience in higher education and specific software tools like Workday Adaptive Planning would be beneficial, they are not strictly required.

    You will also have:

  • A higher education qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Finance, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field) with proven and relevant experience in a similar role within a large and complex organisation
  • Ability to wrangle, structure and visualise data effectively, through experience in using a range of data transformation, analytics, and visualisation tools/languages, such as Python, SQL, DAX, Alteryx, KNIME, PowerBI, Tableau, Plotly, etc.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills with a high-level of expertise in Excel and strong experience with PowerPoint to assist with sharing insights.
  • Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning would be an advantage – as would knowledge of large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like Workday.

    This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to- date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
