The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at The Chinese University of Hong Kong is seeking an outstanding candidate for Research Assistant Professorship (RAP) in Environmental Geophysics. Research topics include the application of geophysical methods to study landslide kinematics and dynamics, earthquake-landslide interactions, and slow-moving landslides' life cycle evolution.

Applicants should have (i) a relevant PhD degree in Geophysics or related fields with at least one year of postdoctoral (or equivalent) research experience; (ii) strong and outstanding academic credentials and records, as evidenced by high-quality publications as a leading author; and (iii) experience in independently leading innovative research projects. Work or field experience in Western China will be considered an advantage.

The appointee will be expected to (a) apply for external competitive research grants; (b) develop and participate in collaborative research projects; (c) co-supervise and mentor postgraduate students and postdocs; (d) undertake teaching duties at undergraduate and graduate levels; and (e) provide service at department, faculty, and university levels.
