Job description

The Department of Biomedical Engineering of Eindhoven University of Technology performs research and education at the interface between chemistry, biology and engineering. In the area of chemical biology, internationally acclaimed research is performed in our shared state-of-the-art laboratories, including an (bio)analytical lab with an extensive collection of molecular characterization tools. The labs are used by researchers from both the Biomedical Engineering and the Chemical Engineering and Chemistry departments.

We are searching for a research engineer who will maintain the high standard of operation of the analytical lab. This lab comprises a wide range of chromatography, mass spectrometry and scattering techniques. You will be responsible for specific equipment maintenance, supervision and training and some general lab management. You will support the researchers by helping them to find answers to complex (bio)analytical questions. You will advise on replacement and purchase of new analytical equipment. You will work within a team with two other colleagues and will distribute the tasks between each other. You will be embedded formally in the Bio-organic chemistry group and in practice support all researchers from the chemical biology cluster of Biomedical Engineering and the molecular cluster of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry.
