The Institute for Sustainability, Energy and Resources (ISER) at the University of Adelaide is at the forefront of advancing research, education, and innovation in sustainable energy and resource management. ISER is dedicated to addressing some of the most pressing global challenges, including energy security, renewable energy and sustainable resource utilisation.

ISER's goal is to position the University of Adelaide as a leading Asia- Pacific centre of excellence in delivering integrated research, education, and consulting services for the sustainable energy and resources sectors.

We are seeking a Senior Administrator to join ISER, supporting the Institute Manager and Director. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-level administrative support, coordinating meetings, events, and communication activities while maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support, including diary and email management for the ISER Director.
  • Organise meetings, events, travel, and conference bookings.
  • Manage financial commitments and maintain accurate records in collaboration with the Finance team.
  • Support the Institute's governance committees, including minute-taking and agenda distribution.
  • Assist with outreach activities, including managing the ISER website, publications, and marketing initiatives.
  • Coordinate external engagement efforts, including workshops and events.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • To be successful you will need:

  • Proven experience in an administrative role with excellent organisational and time management skills including the ability to prioritise work and work independently as appropriate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing as well as strong interpersonal skills to work collegially as part of a team and with a wide range of stakeholder groups, particularly external clients.
  • Well-developed computer skills including intermediate to advanced level experience in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in providing financial support through purchasing, invoicing and maintaining budget updates.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high quality support to the Director, manage their diary and provide triaging of emails and email inbox management.
  • Experience in website management.
  • Experience in organising and managing events (desirable).
  • Qualifications:

  • Completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or
  • Completion of a Certificate IV and extensive relevant work experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
