  • About This Opportunity

    The Faculty of Science is seeking a passionate and experienced marketing generalist to plan and deliver a variety of marketing activities across offline and digital channels for a variety of audiences, that contribute to student recruitment, research promotion, and other key external engagement goals and initiatives.

    In this role, you'll be a critical player in a high-performing Marketing Communications and Future Students Unit, where you'll work as part of a small supportive team to deliver marketing services and solutions that elevate the Faculty's profile and align with UQ's broader goals.

    Key responsibilities will include:

  • Create and maintain digital and offline content, including websites, social media, email marketing, and promotional materials, ensuring consistent messaging and audience engagement.
  • Proactively maintain, write, review and edit Faculty-specific content on the UQ Study website and other websites as required, collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to maintain accuracy and relevance to the target audiences.
  • Contribute to development of marketing plans.
  • Implement marketing strategies and plans aligned with Faculty priorities primarily for student recruitment, retention, and research promotion; and monitor, evaluate and report on effectiveness.
  • Maintain and enhance the Faculty's social media presence, ensuring effective engagement with target audiences.
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate key events and projects as required, ensuring alignment with recruitment and engagement goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing timely communication and support.

  • About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing (or related field) with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Proven experience in translating marketing priorities into successful plans and tactics
  • Proven experience in developing and executing marketing strategies, content creation, and event management across offline, digital and social media channels for a variety of audiences.
  • Proficiency in marketing platforms and tools such as Meta, Google, Drupal, Adobe Creative Suite, social media management platforms, Wrike, Vision 6, Google Analytics.
  • Strong skills in writing and editing article content, web content, email marketing, social media, digital advertising, and photo shoots and video production briefs and coordination.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and translate complex information into plain language.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, work independently and within a team, demonstrate initiative and adaptability, and meet deadlines with a focus on detail and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering marketing services within the university sector or within a large organisation.
