Senior Research Assistant in the HKU Stroke, Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 528915)

HKU Stroke is at the forefront of stroke and dementia research and is currently actively engaged in a large range of projects relating to stroke and dementia prevention and management. Current projects include novel stroke trials; use of big datasets, hospital-based registries, advanced neuroimaging techniques and blood-based biomarkers to predict outcomes and facilitate personalised medicine; and use of digital health platforms and artificial intelligence in stroke and dementia. Duties and Responsibilities

  • coordinate a range of clinical research studies at HKU Stroke (HKU Stroke Research and Prevention Group) of HKUMed
  • data collection, entry, organization and analysis
  • supervise junior staff and students
  • perform other duties as assigned
  • Requirements

  • a Master's degree in health sciences, social sciences, or a related discipline
  • an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese)
  • self-driven, creative, responsible, ethical, self-motivated, detail-minded
  • able to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team
  • What We Offer

    The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

    A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
