The core purpose of the University of Oxford's Biomedical Services (BMS) is to provide for the care and welfare of animals in experimental research and in doing so we support the scientific community across the University. We are, in effect, an internal business with researchers as our customers.

At BMS we are seeking to recruit a Senior Technician, this is a full-time permanent position, 36.5 hours per week.

Your focus as a Grade 5 technician is to ensure that the day-to-day care of the animals is carried out to those standards set out in both the Home Office Code of Practice and the University's standard policy. You will be an experienced member of the team providing technical and administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the facility.

We are looking for a candidate who has experience in working in an animal research facility and is educated to at least IAT Level 3 or hold other relevant experience or education.

Strong attention to detail and the ability organise your own work load is a key part of this role.

You must also have a good comprehensive knowledge of the Animals Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 and Supervisory experience is desirable.
