About the Department of Simulation Learning Centre

The Health Simulation Learning Centre (HSLC) is a simulation learning environment that promotes transformative learning of the knowledge, skills, and attributes necessary for professional health care practice. Those practicing in the HSLC are expected to treat the areas as they would a real patient care setting, maintaining respect for simulated patients, other learners and the environment in which they are immersed.

The HSLC consists of several Clinical Teaching Environments and Simulation Suites (which includes control and debriefing rooms for four simulation rooms). The Center supports educational curricula in the four programs in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, and the various programs in the other departments in the Faculty. Providing a safe and supportive learning environment for students, who access the Centre for a number of courses in their programs, the Centre also supports faculty involved in creating and supporting learning opportunities for students.
