TITLE: Student Worker, CBIST Communications DEPARTMENT: College of Business,
Information Studies, and Technology HOURS/WEEK: Approximately 10 hours per
week HOURLY RATE: $15.00 Open to both undergraduate and graduate students
Job Description The CBIST Communications Assistant supports the
communications and community engagement initiatives of the College of
Business, Information Studies, and Technology with:
Social media support on behalf of CBIST and its schools, including the
Brennan School of Business, School of Information Studies, and School of
Innovation and Technology.
Creating content (with Director's input/approval) for FB, Instagram, X, and others
Monitoring channels and responding where appropriate
Coordinating with other student workers to present a unified look and voice to social media posts
Assisting the Director of CBIST Communications in compiling information
for newsletters and other external communications.
Contributing content to the Butler Center's blog as needed:
butlerspantry.org.
Assisting with marketing and other information sharing of CBIST, SOIS,
BSB, and SIT events.
Participating in event planning and execution, including professional
development events and lectures hosted by CBIST schools.
Eligibility Requirements
Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in
Dominican University's Brennan School of Business, School of Information
Studies, or School of Innovation and Technology.
Necessary Skills
Mastery of web-based research, social media, Microsoft Office (Excel,
Word, PowerPoint), and one or more digital graphic design platforms.
Detail-oriented organization.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lift and move boxes, books, and marketing materials.
Effective time management skills and a self-motivated work ethic.
Personable demeanor and the ability to maintain positive working
relationships with others.
NOTE: This is an on-campus position.
