We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Venue Operations Manager to join our team.

The Venue Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Macquarie University City Campus including management and execution of daily operations, people management, operational efficiency, securing and delivering events, food & beverage operations and customer satisfaction.

Duties include:

  • Overseeing daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning of the venue.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to enhance guest experiences and drive revenue growth through increase occupancy of event and conferencing spaces.
  • Follow up on sales leads, conducting on-site inspections with clients of available function spaces and securing bookings.
  • Monitoring financial performance, managing budgets, and preparing reports to track key metrics.
  • Manage and develop the team including recruitment, induction, performance management and training.
  • Resolve customer queries and complaints.
  • Stock management, including inventory control, ordering and maintaining stock levels
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholder to deliver on outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients to ensure overall satisfaction when planning and delivering their conference/event.

    The Macquarie University City Campus operates as a shared facility for teaching, internal and external conference, events and meetings for both Macquarie University and external clients.

    ABOUT YOU

    You will have proven experience working in a similar environment and/or venue management supervisory experience, you have a passion for excellent customer service and sales. You have previously led or supervised a diverse team. You have excellent organisation skills and attention to detail to create memorable experiences for your guests.
