The Mathematics, Engineering and Computer Science Department at LaGuardia Community College of the City University of New York is seeking highly motivated and innovative candidates to fill tenure-track assistant professor position, in Computer Science or related field at Assistant Professor level.

 

Primary responsibilities for Assistant Professor will include teaching a range of computer science courses like programming, web development, software engineering, artificial intelligence/machine learning, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics/data science, blockchain. The successful candidate will also be required to participate in departmental, divisional, and college-wide initiatives, engage in scholarly research, provide academic advisement, student recruitment and guidance, and contribute to curricula and program development. will include teaching a range of computer science courses like programming, web development, software engineering, artificial intelligence/machine learning, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics/data science, blockchain. The successful candidate will also be required to participate in departmental, divisional, and college-wide initiatives, engage in scholarly research, provide academic advisement, student recruitment and guidance, and contribute to curricula and program development.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. in Computer Science, or related field, with a strong record of scholarly research and peer-reviewed publications. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach more than one of the following specializations: software engineering, mobile and web development, game development, security, data science, and artificial intelligence.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrate the ability to teach effectively. Experience with curriculum development. Experience in student mentorship and guidance. Ability to collaborate with others for the good of the institution. Experience or the ability to teach a diverse student population which includes underrepresented communities.

 

COMPENSATION

$62,411 - $75,465
