The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, always “in search of excellence”, is working with more than 200 ophthalmologists and visual scientists in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Applicants should (i) have a recognised medical qualification (preferably approved for full registration with The Medical Council of Hong Kong); (ii) a pass in the intermediate examination of a post-registration specialist qualification and three year's relevant experience; (iii) be effective, intelligent, energetic, resourceful and forward-looking; (iv) demonstrate personal integrity, sincerity, and teammateship; and (v) possess proven track records in clinical, research and teaching expertise in ophthalmology, preferably in the subspecialty area of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
The appointee(s) will (a) provide clinical services; (b) conduct research and clinical trials; (c) perform teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and (d) other tasks as assigned by the Department.
Those candidates who do not possess the qualifications required for appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor may only be appointed as Clinical Lecturer or other appropriate approved ranks that meet the needs of the Department.
Appointment(s) will normally be made on contract basis for one to two years initially commencing as soon as possible, which, subject to performance and mutual agreement, may lead to promotion, long-term appointment and substantiation.
