The Gaglardi School of Business and Economics at TRU invites applications for a sessional contract position to teach at our partner institution, Tianjin University of Technology (Joint BBA program) in Tianjin, China.
Faculty members are responsible for providing quality instruction to students, ensuring student satisfaction through classroom settings according to the program objectives. Please note, this course will be delivered in person on the Tianjin campus. Each faculty member is expected to develop lesson plans and teach materials from approved curriculum, motivate students to participate in all aspects of the educational process, evaluate progress of all registered students including a final exam and preparation of a supplemental exam, communicate with and prepare a written report of activities and feedback for TRU Gaglardi.
Each course is a 40 - hour delivery and will be taught in English in a 3-week compressed format with support from an assigned TUT faculty member. Moodle LMS is available as a teaching tool in China.
Delivery Dates: Monday December 2 – Saturday December 21, 2024.

Each section is approximately 75 students.
Compensation is covered by TRUFA Collective Agreement Article 16.8 (TRU internal candidates), or Professional Services Agreement (external candidates).
Qualified TRU faculty will be given the first opportunity for international assignments.
TRU will pay the following expenses = $7,726.50 (CA)/section (current TRU sessional rate), premium economy airfare, cost of obtaining a visa, $70 US per diem, $250 US miscellaneous, and airport transfer costs.
Tianjin University of Technology will provide Western style accommodation, campus office space, and cultural support, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Master's degree in relevant discipline; PhD preferred
Language Skills : Demonstrated language skills in English; strong verbal, written and communication skills.
Experience: Applicants must demonstrate relevant work/community experience in their professional field/discipline.
Currency: Applicants must demonstrate evidence of having maintained up-to- date knowledge in their field/discipline, and/or demonstrate evidence of having maintained academic currency in the specific field/discipline relevant to the course(s) for which the applicant is applying.
Teaching Skills: Relevant teaching experience, particularly university- level teaching experience should be included in the application.
