  • About This Opportunity

    This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Lecturer in Anthropology in the School of Social Science. As a teaching-focused academic, you will teach the Summer Semester offering of an Anthropology course which is offered to undergraduate students (ANTH1030: Anthropology of Current World Issues) and engage in the collegial life of the School.

    Key responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching: Coordinate courses, develop and deliver lectures and tutorials, assess and mark students, maintain quality of courses, mentor students, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules.

  • Citizenship and Service: Engage with the collegial life and activities of the School, perform administrative functions, and uphold university values.

    About You
  • Completed PhD or near completion of PhD in Anthropology.

  • Demonstrated knowledge in a relevant field of Anthropology.

  • Demonstrated ability to teach effective courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels using active learning and flexible approaches to teaching, including teaching online.

  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal and consultative skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in teaching and learning.

  • The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre- employment checks, including: right to work in Australia and education check.
