About the role

Three Creative Practice Associate Professor Positions We are seeking applications for three (3) Associate Professor positions from national leaders in creative practice research with a growing international profile. These individuals will engage in groundbreaking scholarly work, creative practice, and research that has notable environmental and societal impact. Their contributions will transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries, addressing some of Australia's and our region's most pressing issues. Through their creative practice, they consistently pursue bold, innovative pathways for expanding knowledge and driving innovation.

Applicants must have a significant record of scholarly achievements and be recognized as emerging leaders in their field(s). We are seeking candidates who are actively producing peer-reviewed and nationally and internationally recognised design and creative work. A robust portfolio of exhibitions, award- winning designs, or notable curatorial experience is required.

The DBE Creative Practice Associate Professors will form an integral part of DBE's new Design Practice Research and PhD programs. They will also play a key leadership role in transforming the undergraduate and postgraduate design studio curricula, with a particular focus on fostering transdisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and cross-disciplinary student experience. Additionally, they will lead DBE's diverse creative disciplines by fostering innovative practices that leverage Perth's distinctive physical and social landscapes, while nurturing the development of high-calibre graduates.

Essential Criteria

1. A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline. 2. A demonstrated record of achievement in and commitment to excellence in teaching. 3. Demonstrated achievement in the discipline/field through the scholarly development and delivery of high quality educational courses. 4. An established record of highly productive research outputs with regular publication in high quality refereed academic journals, or outputs in other creative outlets, consistent with an international reputation in the field. 5. A significant record of obtaining research income, including nationally competitive research grants and/or fellowships 6. Demonstrated academic leadership experience in the discipline/profession and in community engagement. 7. Significant experience and record of providing supervision to higher degree research students. 8. Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross- cultural sensitivity. 9. Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.
