Base salary will be in the range $137,542.79 - $181,934.92 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level C or D)
Based at our vibrant St Lucia campus with some travel to other campuses where required for teaching and research responsibilities
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced academic to contribute to teaching, research, and leadership within a world-class university. The role is open at Level C (Senior Lecturer/Researcher) or Level D (Associate Professor, Teaching & Research), with both positions requiring excellence in teaching (including clinical teaching where applicable), research, and service & engagement. The successful candidate will also be expected to supervise Higher Degree by Research students and take on leadership roles within the department.
Key responsibilities include:
Teaching
At Level CDemonstrate a strong track record in teaching, contributing to curriculum development, course coordination, and program enhancement.
Develop and delivers engaging, high-quality courses across various settings, incorporating innovative teaching methods, including online learning.
Oversee course coordination, lectures, tutorials, assessments, and student support, ensuring alignment with industry and educational standards.
Provide sustained, high-quality teaching, enhancing student learning through innovative curriculum design, assessment practices, and novel teaching technologies.
Lead program development and improvement, ensuring alignment with industry and educational standards.
Build and maintains collaborations, mentoring peers and contributing to professional learning and scholarly inquiry.
Oversee course coordination, lectures, tutorials, assessments, and student support while upholding university policies and academic standards.
Maintain a strong research record, publishing in national and international journals, refereed publications, and conferences.
Secure and manage research funding, contributing as a chief investigator on significant projects.
Translate research into practice through knowledge transfer, commercialization, and policy impact.
Lead independent and collaborative research, gaining national and international recognition.
Initiate and coordinate strategic research collaborations across university, industry, and global networks.
Apply and promote best-practice research methodologies.
Maintain an outstanding research record, publishing in high-quality national and international journals and conferences.
Secure and lead significant research funding initiatives as a chief investigator.
Drive knowledge transfer, commercialization, and policy impact through research translation.
Provide leadership in the discipline through editorial board service and other key roles.
Lead strategic research collaborations with national and international impact.
Shape research agendas, contributing to major academic and industry discussions.
Apply and promote best-practice research methodologies.
Supervise Higher Degree by Research students, fostering their development and research integrity.
Lead and mentor researchers, enhancing their capabilities through coaching and professional development.
Facilitate engagement opportunities and provide constructive feedback to support career growth.
Manage staff effectively, ensuring compliance with university policies and resolving conflicts promptly.
Build and lead research teams, mentoring junior academics and supervising Higher Degree by Research students.
Promote responsible research conduct and develop researcher capabilities through feedback, coaching, and professional development.
Manage staff performance, resolve conflicts promptly, and ensure adherence to university policies and procedures.

About You At level C:PhD in the discipline or other relevant with a strong teaching and research profile.
National recognition and an emerging international profile, with a solid record of publications and conference presentations.
Proven success in securing and managing external research funding.
High-quality teaching across undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate levels, including course coordination and curriculum development.
Experience supervising Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.
Active participation in internal service roles and significant contributions to external activities.
PhD or equivalent with extensive experience in the discipline or other relevant area
Proven leadership in teaching and research within an academic setting, including program improvement and innovative teaching methods (e.g., eLearning, flexible delivery).
High-quality teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in midwifery.
Leadership in ensuring compliance and continuous quality improvement of programs within regulatory frameworks.
Successful record in securing external grants as chief investigator.
International reputation through prestigious awards, highly cited papers, and invitations to keynotes or editorial roles.
Ability to foster relationships and represent the discipline within academic, industry, government, and professional bodies.
Collaborative experience with external agencies for research initiatives.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, adaptable to multi-disciplinary environments.
Extensive experience in supervising higher degree by research students to completion.
