  • About You

    We are looking to develop a pool of Casual Course Builders who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, work both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team and possess the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. You are a quick learner with a high level of attention to detail, exceptional organisational and time-management skills and can adapt to change.

    About the Role

    The Course Builders will support the development and enhancement of courses for the new Adelaide University. Working closely with the Team Leader Course Development, Learning Designers, Digital Education Developers, Media Team, and Course Developers (i.e. Academic Staff), this role will assist in building interactive, media-rich, and scenario-based learning activities and resources within the learning management system (Canvas), ensuring alignment with Adelaide University's learning and media guides.

    Core Responsibilities

  • Support the building of Adelaide University courses based on Learning Designer and Course Developer judgements regarding course learning design.
  • Edit and/or redevelop existing learning resources for new Adelaide University courses within the learning management system (Canvas) consistent with the Adelaide University learning and media guides.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle and foster effective working relationships with colleagues.
  • Work across multiple tools to support teaching and learning as required.
  • Essential skills and experience

  • Familiarity with using a learning management system.
  • Basic proficiency in using technology tools and a willingness to learn and stay current with emerging educational technologies.
  • High level verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • About the Teaching Innovation Unit (TIU)

    The Teaching Innovation Unit (TIU) provides a range of important services to academic staff of the University. It plays a major role in facilitating the promotion and implementation of institutional teaching and learning priorities across the University. The Unit supports the University's long-standing commitments to quality education, student-centred learning, and staff development.
