About The Role:
The Content Designer plays a pivotal role in overseeing the optimisation and
curation of website content to create an exceptional digital experience for
users while aligning with the Curtin content strategy. This position is
responsible for ensuring that the content on site is engaging and effective in
guiding users digital interactions with the university, leading to higher user
satisfaction, engagement, and better recruitment outcomes.
Working closely with the Digital Marketing Manager and the UX team, the
Content Designer collaborates with University Marketing and other critical
stakeholders to enhance the digital content across Curtin's websites,
resulting in more immersive, engaging, and compelling digital experiences.
This role requires a unique blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and an
in-depth understanding of user behaviour and UX principles to drive website
conversions and support critical business outcomes.
This role sits within our Digital Experience team. We are driven by excellence

Key roles and responsibilities:
Ensure website content aligns with user goals : Accountable for
curating the website content to ensure it supports user goals and assists
audiences in their understanding and completion of key tasks, leading to
exceptional online experiences.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams : Work closely with content
creators, UX/UI designers, developers, digital marketing coordinators, and
other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of content with design
and functionality, adhering to Curtin's digital style and experience
guidelines.
Implement SEO strategies in partnership with marketing teams: In
collaboration with the Content Creation, Marketing Acquisition and Digital
Marketing teams implement SEO techniques to ensure that content is not
only engaging but also optimised for search engines, thereby enhancing its
visibility and reach to target audiences.
Integrate visual content effectively : Work closely with visual
designers and multimedia specialists to integrate visual content such as
images, videos, and infographics into the user experience across the
Curtin website.
Administer content governance standards : Ensure adherence to
guidelines, standards, and best practices for UX content creation,
maintenance, and governance across the CMS and other digital systems where
appropriate, while observing existing brand communication policy, process
and content tone of voice guidelines.
Monitor and analyse content performance metrics: Monitor content
performance metrics such as engagement rates, conversion rates, and user
satisfaction scores. Use data-driven insights to identify areas for
content optimisation and iterate on content strategies to improve user
experience and achieve business objectives.
To be a successful applicant for this role, you will have:
A relevant degree and considerable relevant experience; or extensive
experience in a related field.
Demonstrated understanding of user experience (UX/UI) and content design
principles.
Good eye for detail and design across a range of formats and digital
platforms.
Skilled writing and editing expertise with the ability to craft clear,
concise, and compelling content for diverse audiences and contexts.
Ability to recommend and present tools and software required to analyse
and automate content-level improvements to the suite of presences that is
Curtin's digital ecosystem.
Proficiency in content management systems (CMS), web analytics tools,
alongside SEO best practices. Familiarity with both traditional and
headless CMS is desirable.
Previous experience within the higher education sector and /or large
complex organisation is also desirable.
