Base salary will be in the range $64,963 - $71,505 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 3)
Based at our Herston campus
We are seeking a reliable and client-focused Dental Assistant to support students and UQ clinical staff at the new, student-led dental clinic in our esteemed Oral Health Centre at Herston.
Reporting to the Clinic Manager, you will represent the School in a friendly and professional way, focusing on providing excellent customer service to patients, students, and staff.
Key responsibilities will include:
Clinical Care
Booking, receiving and preparing patients for treatment.
Assisting staff and students in dental treatments and procedures.
Preparing and cleaning instruments and equipment before and after treatments.
Assisting with collection, labelling and dispatch of study models, specimens and dental work to laboratories.
Clinical Operations
Ensuring optimal patient treatment and smooth running of the clinic.
Ensuring safe disposal of hazardous or toxic waste and material.
Maintaining accurate clinic records.
Be a proficient user of the Patient Management System and provide support and guidance to staff and students around its use.
Due to the nature of this position and operational requirements of the clinic, the Senior Dental Assistant may be required to take leave in alignment with the academic calendar. Please take this into consideration prior to submitting your application.

Certificate III in Dental Assisting.
Demonstrated experience in dental assisting.
A strong orientation to the provision of a high level of customer service, demonstrating empathy and sensitivity when required.
Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with colleagues and students, as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Ability to take initiative and work independently, with minimal supervision.
Ability to maintain a professional standard and present a professional image.
Value for educational clinical learning environments.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre- employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, blue card check, and mandatory immunisations.
