An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced leader to join the Bond team in the newly created position of Deputy Director, Facilities Management. This pivotal role is designed for an operational expert who will support the Director, Facilities Management with the strategic planning, development, and management of the University's physical infrastructure to ensure that it meets the evolving needs of the University community. Strong leadership and management will be instrumental in fostering a culture of sustainability, efficiency, and innovation in all aspects of facilities management.
The role will lead the Facilities Management Team, overseeing day-to-day operations while driving long-term strategic initiatives.
Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement plans that enhance campus facilities, champion sustainability, support the management of complex projects from planning through execution and ensure they are completed on time and within budget, and identify and execute opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
About the person
Candidates will have a degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, along with a proven ability to lead, communicate effectively, develop others, and work well within a team. They should possess a deep understanding of Facilities Management, Asset Management, Project Management, Sustainability, and WH&S, alongside a successful track record in managing complex capital and maintenance projects from concept to completion.
Additionally, candidates should exhibit strong interpersonal skills for effective communication across various levels, be self-directed with exceptional planning capabilities. A demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks to achieve both project and operational outcomes is essential. Candidates should also have a strong general knowledge of systems such as HVAC, BMS, Hydraulic, and Electrical, and have a history of identifying and implementing cost-effective processes, procedures, and technologies.
