Recruitment, Communications & Marketing Professional & Business Support Grade 6 - £30,487 to £37,099 depending on experience (fixed term until 31/10/25)

The Higher Education Progression Partnership South Yorkshire (HeppSY) works with local schools and colleges to reduce the gap in higher education participation between the most and least represented groups. HeppSY is funded through the Office for Students Uni Connect programme. HeppSY has an excellent reputation for delivering high quality, impartial, and impactful widening participation and outreach activities through its own programmes and from the effective collaboration with key partners including both local universities.

We are seeking a Data and Evaluation Officer to join the Data and Evaluation team, which plays a crucial role in our reporting and monitoring responsibilities for our widening participation activities and programmes. They will provide specialist advice and support for HeppSY, playing an integral part in enabling HeppSY to meet our requirements to the Office for Students.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

•Knowledge and experience of outreach programme evaluation;

•Experience of leading operational activities in evaluation and data, and/ or acting as a point of escalation;

•Working effectively in an environment of complex regulations and procedures e.g. data protection regulations and requirements of external funding;

•Experience of carrying out a range of complex administration activities - organising, supporting and delivering events/ projects/training, and experience of committee servicing, including note taking and follow up actions;

•Proficient in the use of data software (e.g. Excel, SPSS) to analyse quantitative data;

•Experience of planning and leading focus groups and analysing qualitative data.

You will need to be comfortable working closely and collaboratively with colleagues and should not expect to need to work in a highly separated and silo'd manner. We are specifically looking for someone who is diligent, consistent and can act as an organisational pillar within the team. You'll need to embrace the strengths and weaknesses inherent in the diversity of the team and be comfortable working actively to compliment other team members to enhance the team's performance.

Please note that occasional travel across South Yorkshire will be required and may include attendance at some events during the evening and weekends.

If you are offered this post you will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from working at Sheffield Hallam University but its relevance to the duties of the post will need to be assessed before the appointment is confirmed.

For this job we particularly welcome applications from minority ethnic applicants who are underrepresented in this area/ this type of job at Sheffield Hallam.

We welcome applications for job-share, part-time and flexible working arrangements.
