In a bold move to establish a world-leading Health Campus in Stratford, UEL is seeking to appoint an Executive Dean for the School of Childhood and Social Care, which hosts the departments of Psychology and Human Development, Education, and a cross-disciplinary department of Social Work, Counselling and Social Care, all of which have a long standing and impressive track record in teaching and research.

Initially reporting to the Provost, UEL is seeking a credible leader of significant academic standing, with relevant world-class research in one of the cognate areas of the School. The successful candidate will build on a strong track record of research, particularly in Early Years and Positive Psychology, and on over 50 years' expertise in Psychology, combined with an Ofsted ‘Outstanding' Teacher Education provision. You will steer the school into an exciting and influential position, lead and bring staff together while delivering on the high aspirations set out for the School and significant strategic growth plans.

The Executive Dean, will be an established and respected academic and have demonstrable leadership and management experience in a complex and fast-paced setting, be financially astute and bring noteworthy experience of an agile and innovative approach to curriculum design and pedagogy that will inspire, enthuse and challenge our diverse and committed students. They will also have the relevant experience to lead the development of innovative and effective partnership working arrangements in the UK and internationally.

At a University level, the Executive Dean will play an active role in developing and achieving University strategy as a member of the University Executive Team. They will also work closely with the Vice Dean to build a high-performing School leadership team, who will work together to deliver on the institutional strategic objectives at a School level.
