Executive Officer/Senior Executive Assistant (at the rank of Clerk I) in the School of Computing and Data Science (2 posts) (Ref.: 528860) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

To support the establishment and growth of the new School of Computing and Data Science, we are looking for two highly motivated individuals who seek to learn new skills in a balanced work culture and broaden their career prospects in Higher Education.

Post 1: The appointee will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Oversee the administration of the research postgraduate degree programmes;
  • Manage student admission and academic matters;
  • Provide logistical support for departmental and student events;
  • Provide secretarial support for meetings and programme directors; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree, with at least 3-7 years' full- time administrative work experience. They should demonstrate good leadership skills and have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in MS Office applications (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint). They should also have a strong sense of responsibility, good problem-solving skills, proven experience in staff supervision, and the ability to work under pressure.

    Post 2: The appointee will support the School's Public Relations and Communications Team in planning, developing and implementing branding, publicity and outreach initiatives. The appointee will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assist in delivering brand communications and marketing strategies for the School to build brand awareness;
  • Assist in creating and publishing multimedia content for social media platforms and other online promotion channels;
  • Provide logistical and operational support for events and outreach activities of the School, including ceremonies, seminars, workshops, summer programme, and visits; and
  • Support the development of and ensure the content readiness of School publications and marketing collateral
  • Applicants should have a recognised degree, with at least 3 years' work experience in digital marketing, digital graphics, hands-on multimedia exposure, brand awareness, or a related field (social media experience is preferred). They should have strong organisational, multitasking, problem- solving and communication skills; and the ability to work independently. They should also have an excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua). Good analytical skills and experience with web analytics tools are an advantage.

    A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. Those with higher qualifications or more experience may be considered for the post of Executive Officer. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
