Job Summary
The graphic designer serves as media specialist. This position is responsible for researching, conceptualizing, and creating artwork and digital images that promote Radford University. Additionally, this position is responsible for maintaining client-partner accounts to ensure excellent communications and timely delivery of projects. This position reports to the Director for Graphic Design to ensure objectives are being advanced in accordance with the goals of Marketing Communications and moreover, the goals of Radford University.
Required Qualifications
This position requires a demonstrated ability to design projects with a meticulous eye for compliance with supplied brand standards, prepare complicated publication designs and prioritize work tasks, often under intense deadline pressure. In addition to proficiency with software applications in the Adobe suite (PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, etc.), experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) in a Macintosh environment is required. The position demands excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills not only with clients but with co-workers as well.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have broad experience creating brochures, advertisements, logos and product brand images, illustrations, posters, digital signs, magazine layouts, and other visual materials. Experience in a collaborative setting such as an advertising agency or design house is preferred. Experience with mailing requirements. Experience producing custom illustration. Photo editing experience. History of brand implementation and oversight.
