Sir William Dunn School of Pathology
We are looking for a Head of Finance to join the Dunn School of Pathology. This is an exciting and singular key senior role reporting directly to the Head of Department.
The Dunn School has a unique operating model at the University, in that it does not have a single Head of Administration and Finance. As such you will work alongside senior administrators to provide administrative leadership and high quality strategic and operational advice to the Head of Department.
Leading a team of 5, you will have overall responsibility for the efficient and effective delivery of all finance functions and projects in the department, which has an annual turnover of over £20M.
You will ensure that a high quality of service is provided to all members of the Dunn School by the teams for which you are responsible, providing effective leadership and role-modelling of team-working, communication and continuous improvement.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and hold a recognised professional accountancy qualification, such as ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or CIPFA, or be at the final stage of study for such a qualification.
You will also have demonstrable experience in a large, complex accounting environment, as well as have proven leadership, management and technical accounting skills. Experience of working in the Higher Education sector in a research-intensive organisation is desirable.
Please see the below 'Job Description' for more details on the responsibilities and selection criteria, as well as further information about the university and how to apply.
The closing date for applications is midday on Tuesday 22nd October. Interviews will be held as soon as possible thereafter.
