Our Information and Library Services Directorate delivers award winning IT services, providing library, academic, digital skills and learning enhancement support to students across the university. Our digital mission is to ensure everyone in our community is equipped to effectively use digital services, data and technology with confidence, efficiency and creativity in their learning, teaching, research and organisational support.
We are seeking an outstanding candidate to lead the operational aspects of our library services, working as part of a Leadership Group across the Information and Library Services Directorate.
The successful candidate will lead on the use of library space at our Greenwich and Avery Hill campuses, developing the study environments and striving for the highest standards of service to our users.
They will also lead on strategic library collection development for the university, including the university archive. This will include strategies for managing our remaining print collections alongside supporting the continuing growth of digital resources, ensuring we have the right systems to make items discoverable and easily available whenever and where our communities need them.
They will work closely with the other Heads of service in Libraries and Academic Enhancement, particularly the Head of Medway Shared Library and IT Services to ensure consistency with services at Medway and through our collaborative Unified Library Management System.
