Job description
The Academy of Nursing at the University of Exeter are seeking to appoint a temporary Indirect Practice Assessor for a period of nine weeks to support students on placement undertaken at Private, Voluntary and Independent (PVI) settings.
Salary Details
The pay rate for this role will be £40.45 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay), over a period of nine weeks in total from 2 January 2025 to 21 February 2025, with a half day induction to the project in the week commencing 16 December 2024. The expected total number of hours in the nine weeks will be approximately 55 hours, as outlined below:
Travel expenses are paid on top of this hourly rate (either mileage or transport fares). Hours can be flexible within a normal working day, to suit the postholder, the student and the placement provider.
The role
This role holder will in-person and remotely support pre-registration nursing students in non-traditional practice placement care settings where there is not normally a registered nurse or other Allied Health Care Professional (AHP) employed. The key focus will be to fulfil the roles and responsibilities of a student's designated Practice Assessor in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (2023) ‘Standards for student supervision and assessment' (SSSA) in partnership with their Academic Assessor and non-nurse Care Quality Commission (CQC) Registered Manager who will be the students designated Practice Supervisor. The role will also include leadership and management of the student's placement experience by ensuring an appropriate quality of learning to meet programme and professional outcomes.
