Within the La Trobe Rural Health School, we are creating a purpose built Clinical Dental School on the Bendigo Health campus to support the planned growth in Dental Science and Oral Health Science in coming years.

    We are recruiting for a suite of positions over the next 12 months, including a lecturer and senior lecturer in Dentistry and Oral Health. These positions can be traditional teaching and research academic positions or teaching focused positions depending on the right fit for the candidate.

    About the positions

    You will mentor and guide students through their academic journey, providing valuable insights and practical knowledge. Key collaborations with colleagues, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in dental education will see you succeed in this role.

    The Lecturer in Dentistry and Oral Health will contribute to the high- performing teaching teams through the development and delivery of theoretical and pre-clinical education. They will design and implement engaging online and in-person teaching activities in alignment with the current approach to learning and teaching in the discipline. They will have opportunities to conduct original research and contribute to ongoing projects through our existing research centres.

    The Senior Lecturer in Dentistry and Oral Health will design and deliver high quality, evidence-based teaching using innovative methods that will prepare students for the dental work of the future. They will lead specialised teaching teams to ensure excellent student experiences across the spectrum of theoretical, pre-clinical and clinical education. They will lead and conduct high-impact research activities the support the vision and purpose of the discipline and clinical school, including supervision of graduate research students

    To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and clinical teaching experience, particularly in the community/ public sector.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the Victorian dental public health system
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, evidence-based practice and environmental safety.
