Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Ref.: 528843), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

We have resolved to strengthen our capacity in aeronautics in view of the bright prospect for general aviation as an advanced/futuristic means of urban and regional transport for people and goods. The main thrust of our efforts is towards the hardcore technology enabling such advanced transport.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or a related engineering field with relevant teaching experience and contributions in knowledge exchange, curriculum development, pedagogy and administrative services. The Department places emphasis on opportunities in experiential learning, and proven capability to implement these approaches will be a definite advantage. Taught postgraduate programs now occupy a significant sector of the educational initiatives of the Department. The appointee will be responsible for quality teaching in relevant subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervision of student projects, course design and curriculum development and active participation in knowledge exchange. He/She is also expected to participate in administrative services for the Department's taught postgraduate programs. For those who have more than five years of teaching experience at the tertiary level or in an equivalent professional setting, demonstrate good teaching skills preferably with experience in curriculum development may be considered for the Senior Lecturer position.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
