Mercy University Hospital, in partnership with UCC Library, wishes to recruit an Assistant Librarian to head up the Hospital Library located in its Centre of Nurse Education. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and self- directed, bringing an innovative approach to providing exceptional library services in a healthcare setting. This is an amazing opportunity for the right person to join Mercy University Hospital and UCC Library during a time of exciting change.

Reporting to the Head of Academic Services, the appointee will work as the sole librarian within the hospital library, the Mercy Hospital Librarian will manage and provide library services to clinical, educational, research and administrative staff as well as patients in Mercy University Hospital. The successful applicant will provide leadership in the development, assessment and implementation of best practice and procedures related to a hospital library. Through our collaborative partnership with the Mercy University Hospital, the appointee will also be an active member of UCC Library's Learning & Teaching Team, delivering cross-collaborative programmes in support of systematic and scoping reviews, evidence-based practice and other research activities. The Mercy Hospital Librarian will benefit from the support, connection and guidance from UCC Library to deliver exceptional services.

Salary : Admin V (Grade 5) Salary Scales: €49,799 - €61,081 (Scale B) / €47,584 - €58,137 (Scale A)

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
