This scholarship is to support women from a social or educational disadvantaged background in their undergraduate Chemical Engineering degree.

How to Apply

There are many ways to be considered for the Mike Brungs Scholarship for Women in Chemical Engineering:

Year 12 student from an identified low-SES background

UAC will automatically generate an application for the Educational Access Scheme (EAS) as part of your UAC application.

You only need to submit an additional Educational Access Scheme (EAS) or Equity scholarship (ES) if you want us to know about any additional hardships that have affected your studies.

Entering UNSW via the Gateway Admission Pathway

You will automatically be considered for Equity Scholarships based on your UNSW Gateway Admission Pathway application.

You only need to submit an Educational Access Scheme (EAS) or Equity scholarship (ES) if you want us to know about any additional hardships that have affected your studies.

Entering UNSW via the Indigenous Admission Pathway

You will automatically be considered for Equity Scholarships based on your UNSW Indigenous Admission Pathway application.

You only need to submit an Educational Access Scheme (EAS) or Equity scholarship (ES) application if you want us to know about any additional hardships that have affected your studies.

Applying for the Educational Access Scheme (EAS) or Equity Scholarships via UAC

You will need to submit either an Educational Access Scheme (EAS) or Equity Scholarship (ES) application to be considered for an Equity scholarship. Further details are below.



Educational Access Scheme (EAS) Application via UAC

Apply by 21 November 2024.

The Educational Access Scheme (EAS) is open to year 12 students who have encountered significant educational challenges during year 11 and/or 12. For more information on eligibility and how to apply, visit UAC EAS. Note: You will only be considered for Equity scholarships on the basis of your Gateway Admission Pathway and/or UAC EAS applications when you enter UNSW. If you wish to be considered for Equity scholarships in subsequent years, you will need to submit an Equity Scholarship application.

Equity Scholarship Application via UAC

Apply by 10 December 2024

The Equity Scholarship application allows commencing and current applicants undertaking undergraduate or postgraduate coursework studies to apply for Equity scholarships. You will be considered on the basis of your UAC Equity Scholarship (ES) application. Equity scholarship applications open in April and close the following March. You only need to submit ONE Equity Scholarship application via UAC during this period. Your application remains live throughout this period, and you will be considered for all available Equity Scholarships for which you are eligible.

UAC Equity Scholarship applications for 2024-2025 are now open.

By submitting an Educational Access Scheme or UAC Equity Scholarship application, you may also be considered for other UNSW Equity Scholarships.

Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:
  • Be female
  • Have submitted an Educational Access Scheme or Equity Scholarships application via UAC
  • Be commencing undergraduate coursework study in one of the following specialisations:
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Chemical Product Engineering
    • Food Science
    • Environmental Engineering
Selection
Applicants will be considered based on their UAC Equity Scholarship or UAC Educational Access Scheme application, or another appropriate UNSW admissions pathway program and Academic merit.
