The Officer, Employee Benefits is responsible for the execution and administration of employee benefits processing and data entry to meet the operational and service delivery needs of the University. This includes timely, accurate and efficient processing and information provision related to salary packaging, employee superannuation, and other employee-related benefits.
The role ensures all transaction processing and data entry activity performed follows established business processes and standard operating procedures. This includes investigating, validating and escalating data integrity issues that compromise the quality and accuracy of transactions.
Key responsibilities will include:
Provision of information and assistance to staff of the University concerning their entitlements and obligations relating to superannuation and other employee benefits including salary packaging.
Processing, administration, reconciliation and payments of superannuation and employee salary packaging accounts including payroll deductions and other salary packaged items.
Prepare, investigate, and reconcile relevant General Ledger accounts.
Request for Stapling fund information from ATO in a timely manner for impacted staff members.
Ensure record keeping and archiving is maintained in line with the University's and external compliance requirements.
Acquire, maintain and apply up to date knowledge of UQ issues and trends, labour laws, superannuation legislation and relevant fund requirements.
Assist in the testing of HRIS upgrades (service pack amendment) that impact on the operation of the People Services Unit.
Subsequent relevant experience in superannuation and/or salary packaging administration, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Ability to apply problem solving and analytical skills to investigate and ensure data integrity in processing, and the resolution of any issues within the parameters of policy and/or relevant legislation.
Demonstrated working knowledge of superannuation and salary packaging policies and legislation, including employee benefit tax implications, or the ability to rapidly gain such knowledge.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders and clients ensuring service delivery meets key requirements.
Experience working with enterprise technology and software solutions and systems, utilising multiple user modules for the submission of a diverse range of data and information sets.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment, whilst taking full accountability for the efficient delivery of set tasks within agreed timeframes and to agreed service standards.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position through to March 2025 at HEW Level 5.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $78,944 - $87,750 plus super of 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $92,364 - $102,667 per annum.
