  • About the Role In this new position, we are seeking a dynamic manager to lead the newly formed Carpentry, Bricklaying and Plumbing department at Certificate II, III and IV levels.

    The Manager will focus on establishing and strengthening relationships and partnerships with industry stakeholders, government entities, and across VET and Higher Education programs at Swinburne.

    Reporting directly to the Director of Trades and Engineering Technologies, the Manager will provide vision, leadership, and operational oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality programs. This includes fostering innovative learning and assessment practices. The Manager will also oversee activities and initiatives designed to meet the needs of our student cohorts, ensuring that programs are developed and delivered in alignment with Swinburne's quality frameworks

    About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of the plumbing and/or building training sector
  • Sound knowledge of the requirements of plumbing and/or building industries or partners
  • A demonstrated track record in motivating, leading, and managing high performing and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated experience in high level planning, organisational and complex problem-solving skills, which enable business units to achieve performance targets and budgets
  • A proven ability to negotiate, collaborate and foster strong relationships both internally and externally; including engagement with industry, the community, and professional networks

  • Relevant tertiary degree or management qualification and/or trade qualifications or equivalent experience and currency
