Job description
The Department of the Built Environment invites applications for a dynamic
Postdoctoral position within the Information Systems in the Built Environment
group. This role centers on pioneering Multi-Ontology AI-based Facility
Digital Twins, integrating cutting-edge AI techniques—including machine
learning, reinforcement learning, and transfer learning—into research and
educational frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct ontological research focusing on spatial dynamics, inter-process
interactions (e.g., shared resources and power consumption), and human
operator behaviors.
Enhance and transform Industry 5.0 initiatives by prioritizing worker
engagement, perception, and accessibility, recognizing the critical role
of the human element in technological advancements.
Prepare the methods and tools developed for manufacturing environments in
this ontological research for subsequent application to urban scales.
Apply the developed technologies and systems to both existing and new
building stocks to enhance resilience and sustainability in response to
climate action demands.
Impact:
Your contributions will directly support climate action initiatives by
utilizing the information systems and technologies developed in this
research to address challenges within the built environment at various
scales, with an emphasis on sustainability and environmental impact.
You will be an integral part of a vibrant research group dedicated to pushing
the boundaries of information systems in the built environment. This position
is designed to appeal to a broad range of applicants, ensuring a balanced
focus on both technical and social dimensions of the role.
