POSTDOC POSITION in biomedical research: Role of DNA repair proteins in
metabolism of G4 structures
A postdoc position is available at Lumír Krejčí Research Group, Laboratory of
Recombination and DNA Repair, Department of Biology. The laboratory is devoted
to fundamental studies in processing of stalled replication forks and how this
process contributes to genome instability and disease development. Examples of
the recently studied problems in our lab include (1) role of homologous
recombination proteins in processing stalled replication forks, (2) role of
phase separation in genome maintenance, (3) characterisation of Rothmund-
Thomson helicase, (4) role of G4 structures in genome stability, and (5)
identification and optimisation of novel nuclease inhibitors for improved

The successful candidate should:
Hold a Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry or similar field or its
equivalent, awarded within the past 7 years, AND have worked in
research for at least 2 years of work, within the last 3 years ,
outside the Czech Republic (with a workload equivalent to at least 0.5
full-time employment)
Alternatively , hold a Ph.D. diploma (or equivalent) from an
international institution awarded within the past 3 years
Demonstrate a publication record that includes a minimum of three research
outputs (articles) within the past three years, surpassing the field's
median standards, with at least two of them ranked in Q1 according to Web
of Science.
Specific qualifications include:
Exhibit a genuine passion for scientific exploration and a deep-seated
curiosity
Possessing a robust foundation in genetics, molecular biology,
biochemistry, and biophysics will be greatly advantageous
Display exceptional communication abilities and a collaborative spirit
Demonstrate strong organizational skills
Show independence and enthusiasm
